Audrey is a super healthy, happy, energetic, outgoing, sweet little (really big) 3 year old! She weighs 43 lbs, and is over 41 inches tall...let's just say that fits the above 97th %ile for other girls her age! I could have told her doctor that! Everything was perfect at her well check except for an Abnormal Eye Test. Audrey's doctor saw a little concern with her left eye not following and meeting up with the right eye like it should. We were referred to a Pediatric Eye Specialist last week, and everything came back perfectly normal. There is nothing wrong with her eyes...praise the Lord for that! The eye doctor said that her eyes are growing faster than her face right now, but that was okay. She has 20/50 vision right now, which they say is really good for a 3 year old. I didn't see anything wrong with her eyes, and Curtis and I don't have eye problems, so I was glad to know eveything was fine with Little Missy's eyes!
Audrey is loving school, and everything about it! She is sharing so much better, and I think, just overall getting along with other kids her age better. She can sing a ton of songs, she knows her ABC's and can count to 25, then she gets a little out of order. We are working on recognizing letters and numbers now and the sounds they make, which is really hard. We are always reading books, especially at night time. I love watching her read a book, and using expression like I do! We love to go to the library and sit and read books, then bring a few home! She enjoys coloring, playing with stickers, stamps, and play dough. She is pretty good at playing by herself, but just wants to make sure someone is in her eye contact most of the time. She loves to play with her Loving Family Dollhouse, and still, of course, is IN LOVE with everything to do with her babies! We never go anywhere without a baby, and usually some sort of baby doll accessory. She loves to play with jewelry and carry around several of my purses at a time...I LOVE that she is so girly like that! She is just now starting to get into the whole princess theme. She got some princess things for her birthday, and she seems to be enjoying that and talking about princesses more each day! She also loves to be outside! She plays outside any chance she gets. She got a scooter and bicycle with training wheels for her birthday, so we are trying to master those any chance we get! She is getting more into watching movies, and you can tell she understands and comprehends what is happening more, but we do limit her TV a lot, so she doesn't watch anything for too long of a period.
Her behavior at this fun toddler stage seems to be okay. I'm afraid to say it is good, or horrible because I don't know what is to come. She really doesn't throw HUGE temper tantrums anymore. She definately still has them, but just fewer of them now. You never know what her mood or attitude will be like...if I ask her to put something away, she could say, "Sure" and do it spot on, or she could look at me like I've lost my mind, and tell me"no." You just never know what you are going to get. I'm not sure if this is a girl thing, or an age thing...I guess we will just have to wait and see!
It's been a hard adjustment with Curtis being gone a lot! Audrey loves and misses her Daddy soooo much when he is away, and is a complete Daddy's girl when he is around, but it has been hard finding that good balance too. It is just Audrey and I a lot, and then when Curtis comes home it kind of throws things for a loop for a little bit. We are learning and making changes as we need to though.
Audrey is the absolute sweetest gift from God that Curtis and I have, and we are so thankful for her each and every day. Through the good days and the bad days of this parenting journey, we LOVE being the parents to this sweet little Audrey Lane!
